Prelate; St John’s College, Cambridge; BA 1647; DD Oxford 1683; Bishop of Peterborough 1685-91; one of the Seven Bishops 1688; deprived as a non-juror 1690, he then tried unsuccessfully to found a non-juring Church of England.
