William II of Holland (1792-1849), King of Holland, reigned 1840-49

Prince of Orange and King of Holland. Wellington's ADC in the Peninsula 1811, appointed Major-General in the British Army 1813, commanded Dutch and Belgian contingents 1815 and wounded at Waterloo. Succeeded his father as King of Holland 1840; Field Marshal of England 1845. For a few months he was engaged to Princess Charlotte.
