Henry Cooper Reade (1818-1873), Army surgeon

Army surgeon; born 17 March 1817, Co. Wexford, Ireland. [1] Elected MRCS and commissioned as assistant surgeon, 15th Regiment of Light Dragoons 1839; surgeon, 76th Regiment of Foot 1847; appointments in Malta and Corfu 1851–3; promoted 1st staff surgeon 1855; [2] surgeon major in West Indies 1859–61, and in Dublin and Colchester 1862; retired on half-pay with honorary rank of deputy inspector general 1867; died 1 August 1873 at home, 2 Caledonia Place, Clifton, Bristol.
