Allen between them, and the 'librarian' William Doggett on the right; it was painted for Lord Holland as a birthday present for his wife in 1838 and bequeathed by her to Lord Grey in 1845 (exhibited 'British Portraits', RA, 1956-7 (383) and 'Byron', V&A Museum, 1974 (F3)).
