In 1806, a Poland mantlet was a short jacket for walking dress reaching to the high waist with collar and long scarf ends attached to the shoulders. In 1828, a Polish mantilla was for evening, fitting the waist and with loose drapery sleeves. In 1835, a short Polish mantle reached to the knees with a pelerine-cape and was edged with fur.
