A full Turkish long sleeve of 1811 was a full puffed sleeve with a large cuff, probably the same as what is later called a mameluke sleeve. In the 1830s Turkish sleeves were loose, open flowing sleeves. Turkish hanging sleeves hung down the back from the shoulders circa 1808. Oriental sleeves of the 1840s has a tight upper arm, a slash in the middle to give fulness, continuing straight but loose to the wrist.
