Mabel Batten was married to George Henry Mansell Batten (1836-1910) and lived in a relationship with the novelist Marguerite Radclyffe Hall, author of the Well of Loneliness. All three are buried together in a vault in the Circle of Lebaon in Highgate Cemetery. He was buried in 1917.
