Sir Richard Stayner's daughter Elizabeth was the second wife of Sir Richard Holford and also, as her brother had predeceased her, she brought her father's fortune into the Holford family. This fortune was apparently derived from booty from Spanish galleons. The great great grandson of Sir Richard and Elizabeth Holford was Robert Stayner Holford (1808 - 1892) who built Dorchester House, Park Lane, Westonbirt House, Gloucestershire, and laid out Westonbirt Arboretum (Now the National Arboretum).
