Sir Oswald Mosley forms the British Union of Fascists. Mosley's party - nicknamed the Black Shirts after their uniform - was founded along the lines of Mussolini's Fascist Party in Italy and called for the replacement of parliamentary democracy with a system of elected executives. The baby in the photograph is Tom Priestley (the son of author JB Priestley), and he's still alive living in London. Until his retirement he was a film editor and worked on many high profile films including '1984' and 'Deliverance'.
