Yeo has exhibited in the BP Portrait Award several times. Sir MIchael sat several times for Yeo in his studio, and the artist has likened his portrait-painting process to one of his sitter's interviews: 'What we are both doing is rendering people in two-dimensional form, whether on a television or on a canvas. But we are still allowing their face to tell a lot of the story'.
