At the time Bown's portrait of Cilla Black was taken in 1967, Black was performing in Bernard Delfont's revue Way Out in Piccadilly at the Prince of Wales Theatre and was about to start her television career.

InternationalChe Guevara is captured and executed in Bolivia. The guerrilla leader and revolutionary icon was hunted down by the CIA and captured and shot by Bolivian Special Forces. He had been leading Bolivian insurgents in an attempt to overthrow the government.
