She had trained alongside Jean Shrimpton at Lucie Clayton’s modelling school. From the early 1970s, Hammond gave up her career in modelling to devote herself to animal welfare. A variant pose from this sitting was published on the front cover of the 20 March 1962 edition of Queen magazine. As well as being a successful theatre and portrait photographer, London-born Sandra Lousada (b.1938) has worked in fashion and advertising.
