Four aircraft are hijacked by Palestinian terrorists. The planes were landed in Cairo, Jordan and London and the hijackers demanded the release of Political Prisoners in exchange for the hostages. Several prisoners were returned and three of the planes were blown up after most of the hostages were release.Four students are shot dead by national guardsmen during a protest against the Vietnam War in America.

Thirteen of the fifteen Conservative women MPs elected were photographed with Ted Heath less than two weeks after the election. Clearly Margaret Thatcher to the left and nearly obscured totally seen to the right of Thatcher is Dame Irene Ward. Sally Oppenheim is the person in the light coat just behind the lady with the white handbag. To the right of Ted Heath Elaine Kennett has the light dress and cameo necklace with Janet Fookes facing left. On the right hand side Joan Quennell is third from right and Peggy Fenner is on the extreme right hand side of the picture.
