Art and science
An adaptation of Sophocles's Oedipus is published, a collaboration between poet laureate, John Dryden and playwright, Nathaniel Lee. It becomes a hugely successful stage production during the Restoration period.Composer, Henry Purcell, becomes organist of Westminster Abbey.
