Artist's statement: In this image are my 6-year-old Teo and his dad, mid-haircut, at home in Bristol. I loved watching as Saul gently shaved the sides of his hair, my son’s fingers still with nail polish on from other adventures. My kid was a little fragile and scared of the little hairs and the machine... but the connection is tender and strong. The photo shows such a small moment with big meaning and emotion. For me, as a mother and artist, photography has been a friend and saviour, helping me to create, document and digest in these challenging times. I'm grateful for that. All is love 2020.
