Jill Kennington and Melanie Hampshire model Mary Quant striped wool dresses. This outdoor 'action realism' fashion study, was a style that was pioneered by Parkinson in the 1930s when he worked for Harpers Bazaar. This high energy style suited the image that Jocelyn Stevens wished to promote in Queen magazine for which Parkinson was also a contributing editor between 1960 and 1964. Photographed for Life magazine, 18 October 1963.
