Mr John Lacy was born in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. He was first a dancing master, then went into the Army becoming a Lieutenant and Quarter master. After this he became a player/actor and was highly esteemed for this, so much so that King Charles II had his picture painted, believed to be at Windsor.
