Lucas photographed Bardot when she was brought to London to appear opposite Dirk Bogarde in Doctor at Sea (1955). His photographs appeared as a double-page colour souvenir in Picture Post (July 1955). The carefully constructed set resembling an exotic French location was in fact put together by assembling various well sourced props by Cornel Lucas in his studio.
