This portraitback to top

This is a study for Hayter's large picture of 'The House of Commons, 1833' (see NPG 54). It was presented at the same time as an oil sketch of Admiral Sir George Elliot (NPG 2511) for the same picture. Both sketches were purchased by Queen Mary from a shop in Harrogate.
