Francis Horner MP; his nieces Miss Joanna Horner and Mrs Katharine M. Lyell (née Horner) and given by them in March 1906, together with Henning's drawing of Dugald Stewart (NPG 1428).

Deposited on long loan at the Scottish NPG in 1906. 'Portrait Drawings by Scottish Artists 1750-1850', Scottish NPG, 1955 (113b), returned to NPG in 1960.
