Probably related to the bust of Clyde by Adams, exhibited RA, 1856 (1348). A later plaster bust of Clyde by Adams, dated 1861, is in the Scottish NPG. The NPG bust was purchased at the same time as a number of other plaster casts by Adams, and a marble bust of Sir William Napier (NPG 1197). Clyde is wearing the star of the Bath.
