Two of the sketches are in profile, one in pen-and-ink, the other in pencil, with touches of red; the third sketch is nearly full-face, in pen-and-ink. All three sketches are very small and slight, and they appear on the sheets with MS fragments. These appear to be fragments of letters or drafts of letters, covered with sketches and miscellaneous notes; one is addressed to Horace(?), but tails off, and is left unfinished. Among the other sketches are several profiles of the artist's brother, Isaac Robert Cruikshank, a finished drawing of his sister, Eliza, two smaller sketches of her head, a profile sketch of William Hone, drawings of an owl and a hooded figure, and a sketch of Sir Francis Grant's equestrian portrait of Queen Victoria at Christ's Hospital, Horsham.
