Valentine Green

When he engraved NPG 1260 in 1788 Green was at the height of his powers; he had begun the twelve plates illustrating events in the history of the Queens of England (Acta Historica Reginarum Angliae 1786-92) and the following year he began the Düsseldorf pictures, a privilege accorded by the Duke of Bavaria.
