This is a copy of the three-quarter length portrait of Grey by Lawrence in the collection of Lady Mary Howick, exhibited RA, 1828 (158), and SKM, 1868 (310), engraved by S. Cousins, published Colnaghi, 1830 (example in NPG). The NPG portrait is clearly not from Lawrence's hand. Another version of the portrait (similar in size to the original) was sold at Parke-Bernet, New York, 20 May 1960 (228), reproduced in sale catalogue. A copy is in the collection of F. D. Berkeley.
