A similar bust, or possibly the same bust, was reproduced as a woodcut ILN, XXXII (1858), 508, after a photograph by Lock and Whitfield. An accompanying description (507) stated that:

'The bust has been executed from the best sources; and a few days ago Mr. Adams had the honour of submitting it to Her Majesty. It has, we understand, met with the full approbation of Lady Havelock, and of several persons who had been so fortunate as to possess the friendship of the departed hero.'
Havelock is shown wearing the star of the Bath. This bust was purchased at the same time as several other plaster busts by Adams, and a marble bust of Sir William Napier (NPG 1197).
