Formerly known as Matthew Henry (1662-1714), the Presbyterian minister from Broadoak, Flintshire. He was latterly corpulent and forbidding, but his engraved portrait by Vertue of 1710 (the most authentic image) shows a high forehead and wider eyes, rendering the identification of this very poor portrait uncertain.
