Half-length standing, his right hand holding brown sash, his left on a book ornamented with the Hirschel armorial device, a Lion and a Hart supporting a scroll and crown, referring to the Rabbi's father, Hirschel Levin (Hart Lyon); large black hat, black cloak over brown cassock, white bands; dark eyes, dark brown hair and beard, sallow complexion; sky in left background, books to right, red curtain overhead.
