In spring 1927 the National Portrait Gallery commissioned the Victoria & Albert Museum’s Department for the Sale of Casts to make a bronze of Thomas Brock’s plaster bust of Joseph Lister, NPG 1958. The cost was £45. [1]

Bust, head turned slightly to sitter’s left, incised eyeballs, clean-shaven with long whiskers, wearing frock coat, waistcoat and bow tie; on integral square socle.
