The drawing is a copy (or perhaps the original) with slight variations of a cut-out silhouette by Edouart dated September 1826 in the NPG Reference Collection (see Desmond Coke, The Art of the Silhouette, 1913, pp 108, 122 and plate XIX). Edouart at this date was working in Bath and Cheltenham and Liston at the height of his career as 'Paul Pry' at the Haymarket Theatre.
