A mid-19th century copy from an unattributed portrait showing Lynch as envoy to Sardinia. A version from the F. D. Brockman collection was sold Christie’s, 31 July 1931, lot 14 (attributed to Tilly Kettle; wearing a green coat with a red collar); a pastel version (unattributed; wearing a blue coat with red collar and cuffs) is at Longleat [1] (Lynch had been patronised by Lord Weymouth), and a third version was in an English private collection 1991. [2] An unspecified portrait was with Lord Carteret at Haynes House, Bedford, in 1797. [3]
