This portraitback to top

McCormick is shown in the full-dress uniform of a deputy inspector-general of hospitals and fleets (1856 pattern), and the Arctic Medal (1818-55). This is the only recorded portrait of him apart from a lithograph reproduced R. McCormick, Voyages of Discovery etc (1884), I, frontispiece.

Dark complexion, dark blue(?) eyes, brown hair. Dressed in a dark stock, white shirt, and dark blue naval uniform, with gold-braided collar and epaulettes, gilt buttons, and a silver medal with a grey ribbon. Background colour dark grey.

Commissioned or purchased by Colonel John Barrow, and bequeathed by him, 1899.
