This bust was discovered in the NPG bust store with no indication of its source or origin. It is a reduced replica of Noble's bust of 1850 in the collection of Earl Peel (see NPG 596); another version of the same size as NPG 596a is also owned by Earl Peel (dated 1850). The tip of the nose in the NPG bust is damaged.
