Half-length to left aged c.55, black coat with brass buttons, white neckcloth and cravat; sparse white hair, hazel eyes, ruddy complexion, myopic expression; plain drab background, red curtain.

Provenanceback to top

Pye family at Clifton Campville, Faringdon, and bequeathed with a collection of portraits to A. O. Elmhirst who gave it to the NPG 1962.
