This was presented at the same time as the portrait of Earl Roberts by J. S. Sargent (NPG 3927). It is the only recorded portrait of Sir Abraham Roberts.

Physical descriptionback to top

Healthy complexion, grey eyes, grey hair and whiskers. Dressed in a white collar, dark blue uniform with gold-braided epaulettes, with a crimson sash and a crimson and gold-striped sash, a dark green and red ribbon supporting the medal at his neck, and other multi-coloured orders and medals. Background colour dark brown.

The sitter; by descent to his widow, Lady Roberts, and presented by her executor, General Sir Ewan Miller, 1955.
