This is the only recorded portrait of Sharpe. It was presented with a portrait of Joseph Bonomi (NPG 1477).

Healthy complexion, grey hair and whiskers (eyes not visible). Dressed in a black stock, white shirt, black coat and waistcoat. Reading a dark-covered book, the pages with red edges. Seated in a red chair (the back just visible on the left). Two small standing Egyptian statuettes on a table at the right. Background colour green.
