These 'camera lucida' drawings are related to the marble bust in the Royal Society, London, exhibited RA, 1837 (1272), and British Portraits, RA, 1956-7 (697); the inscribed date, '1840', was apparently added later. A related plaster bust is in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, and two more are at Somerville College, Oxford. A copy is in the Royal Institution, London.
