This is a sketch for the head of Ford's bronze equestrian statue of Strathnairn at Albert Gate, Knightsbridge, reproduced Magazine of Art (1895), p 439, and Art Journal (1898), p 296. It was purchased with busts of Millais and Huxley by the same sculptor (NPG 1329, 1330).
