A letter from Wheatstone to Laurence of 18 April 1868, referring to a sitting, is in the collection of W. B. Laurence. A bronze relief, based on the NPG drawing, is on the outer wall of St Michael's Church, Gloucester. NPG 726 was purchased at the same time as an oil painting of Thackeray by Laurence (NPG 725).
