This electrotype is a copy from the alabaster tomb effigy in Gloucester Cathedral. The effigy is not a genuine likeness of Edward but rather an image of a ruler. The process of electrotyping captures all the details on the surface of the original sculpture. As a result this electrotype also features the graffiti that has been scratched onto the original alabaster effigy in Gloucester Cathedral.
