I think the donor was E [dward] P[enrose] Arnold-Forster, not E R Arnold-Forster. I am writing a biography of the sitter, William Edward Arnold-Forster's great-grandson, also called William Edward, and have studied the family tree, and the sitter did not have an adopted son called E R Arnold-Forster.
