There exists a portrait of Sir Thomas Richardson c 1620-21 in fur-trimmed robe, black cap, holding gloves, wearing a star chamber ring with a coat of arms.
It depicts him as a Serjeant-at-law, Judge in Star Chamber, recent chancellor ( attorney general ) to Queen Anne, consort of James I. He was chosen Speaker of House of Commons Jan. 1620(1).
Note: He was a loyal Stuart cavalier and intimate with the King, lord chancellor Bacon, duke of Buckingham, Thomas Howard. He married 2nd, the sister of Buckingham’s wife.
This portrait was in Virginia Colony prior to 1660. See reference to portrait p. 351.
