Sir Giles Alington, 1572-1638, of Horseheath Hall, Cambs. was High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire in 1599, following in the footsteps of his father. He was the third Sir Giles and was the son of Sir Giles Alington and Margaret, daughter of Sir John Spencer of Althorp.
He was married to Lady Dorothy Alington, who died in 1613 and was the daughter of John Cecil, Earl of Exeter and grand-daughter of William Cecil, Lord Burghley.
A portrait of the same construction was painted about 1620 by the Anglo Flemish school and sold for over £20,000 in 2004 at Christies.
