This portrait, given its title, appears to be of Lord Hamilton Francis Chichester (1810-1854) rather than his elder brother George Hamilton Chichester, 3rd Marquess of Donegall. The image is dated 1854, which is the year of Lord Hamilton's death in Malta, which may be connected with why it was created. The 3rd Marquess also appears to have worn a moustache throughout his life, which is confirmed by his portrait by James Atkins in the Ulster Museum and by a later lithograph of him reproduced in Carrickfergus Borough Council's publication of "The Family of Chichester and Carrickfergus" by Charles McConnell. Information about Lord Hamilton appears in the cited link below from the Times of Malta and also the newspaper notices regarding his death in January 1854.
