Vintage press photographs of Bobby Moore, 1960s and 70s
11 Portraits in set
The England football team won their first and only World Cup victory in 1966, defeating West Germany 4-2 in a tense final at Wembley Stadium. The famous image of England’s captain, Bobby Moore (1941-93), lifting the Jules Rimet trophy cemented Moore as the embodiment of a golden period in English football. Moore became and remains an inspirational sportsman for a generation of footballers and fans. Vintage press prints provide an insight into the professional and personal life of one of England’s best-loved sporting heroes.
