Welcome to the National Portrait Gallery SEN Teachers' Exploring Elizabeth I Resource.

Exploring Elizabeth I is a collaboration between teachers working with children with severe and complex communication disabilities at ICAN's Meath School in Woking and the National Portrait Gallery.

We have used two of the most important portraits produced in Tudor England to develop your pupils' visual literacy skills. These images can be used when exploring the Lesson plans, Activities and Resources found to the left of this page.

Both of the images of Elizabeth I can be used as an interactive whiteboard activity and all of the teachers' resources are downloadable as PDFs.

We hope you enjoy this resource and find it a useful and accessible learning tool.
