Director’s Circle

Launched in 2018, the Director’s Circle supports a variety of special projects selected by Dr Nicholas Cullinan.

Contributing to the evolving dialogue created by our contemporary projects, commissioning programme, exhibitions, and historic Collection, the Director’s Circle support the Director’s vision across the Gallery.

Now is a particularly exciting moment to join the Director’s Circle, as the Gallery embarks on its Inspiring People redevelopment. The project iis our most significant transformation since our historic building opened in 1896. One of the key focuses of the project is an ambitious, more engaging and much-needed, comprehensive re-display of our Collection.

Our world-class collection continues to grow, our exhibitions programme is internationally renowned and we have more exciting developments ahead.

The Director’s Circle enjoy several bespoke events each year, curated by the Director and guided by the strong relationships the Gallery continues to foster with practising artists and leading cultural figures. Some of our recent events have included; an exclusive drinks reception with Malala Yousafzai and photographer Shirin Neshat, to unveil the portrait of Malala commissioned by the Gallery, a unique tour of the fashion highlights in our Collection with Dr Nicholas Cullinan in collaboration with the designer Erdem Moralioglu; and an invitation to enjoy a private screening of our recent film acquisition Fergus by TJ Wilcox, followed by an exclusive dinner with the artist and sitter.

You can join the Director’s Circle for an annual donation of £10,000. To find out more, please contact Rowen Hunt, Philanthropy Manager [email protected].
