Inspiring People - Make History
Will you help us Make History?
At the National Portrait Gallery we invite everyone to meet the people who have made – and are making – Britain what it is today. Inspiring People will help the Gallery fulfil its unique role as the nation’s family album, from the time of Katherine Parr to Martin Parr.
In 1896, after three temporary sites, the Gallery moved to its current home, a beautiful and specially designed building by the eminent Victorian architect Ewan Christian. This was largely due to the generosity of the philanthropist William Henry Alexander. Since then the Gallery has thrived thanks to the continued support of many people and their donations large and small.
The Inspiring People project will be our most important transformation for over a century. Please support us today and help make history.
