The Gallery’s Cloakroom facility is situated in below the main stairs in Room 43 (Studio Gallery)

Saturday to Thursday: 10:00-17:50
Friday: 10:00-20:50
The Gallery holds the most extensive collection of portraits in the world. Search over 215,000 works, 150,000 of which are illustrated from the 16th Century to the present day.

Visitors may leave coats, bags, suitcases and umbrellas in our Cloakroom.
Coats/small bags cost £1, cabin sized suitcases £3 and large suitcases £5. Any other items will be at the staff member’s discretion. Umbrellas are free. Charges do not apply to Members.
The cloakroom has space to store a limited number of pushchairs, using our free Buggy Park (refundable, £1) situated in the Cloakroom.
Coin- operated storage lockers are available to use in the Cloakroom, priced £1 (non- refundable).
We do not allow suitcases, long umbrellas or wet umbrellas onto the Gallery floors so you will be asked to leave these items in the Cloakroom before entering the Gallery.
In the interests of security it may be necessary to conduct bag searches. Visitors are asked to present any bags to Gallery staff for inspection on request.
All items are left in the Cloakroom at the owner’s risk, and the Gallery does not accept liability for the loss of, or damage to, anything left in the cloakrooms.
