This display marks the bicentenary of the poet Alfred, Lord Tennyson, who was born on 6 August 1809. Poet Laureate from 1850 until his death in 1892, Tennyson was one of the pivotal figures of the Victorian era. His work includes In Memoriam, The Charge of the Light Brigade and The Lady of Shalott. This display features images of the celebrated poet throughout his career, including photographs by Julia Margaret Cameron.
