Celebrating the diversity and reality of British family life in 2017 Siân Davey has created a series of photographs that puts families of all shapes and sizes in the spotlight. Davey travelled across Britain and photographed thirty-one families in twenty-one days.

We Are Family aims to show that mealtimes remain important to families, and uniting over food is something they all have in common.

Featuring a range of families, this display celebrates some of the unique setups that exist today from multi-generational living, to single parents and traditional family units across varying demographics, ages and ethnicities.

Siân Davey is a photographer with a background in fine art and psychotherapy. Her work investigates the psychological landscapes of both herself and those around her. Family and community are central to her practice. Davey’s photographs have been selected for inclusion in the National Portrait Gallery’s Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize exhibition for the last three years.
